Bios

Margaret Burke Catalfamo is a Human Resources/Operations professional with 15+ years of experience.  She has profitably managed multiple locations; been accountable for P&L, strategic planning, budgeting, compliance oversight and facilities management.  As Director of Operations for a major financial services company she was responsible for 14 offices and over 850 associates across seven states.  Margaret successfully recruited, motivated and developed all levels of staff; she is experienced implementing Human Resource policies and procedures across multiple cultures.  By identifing risk issues and developing  "Best Practices Protocol" policies her offices attained a 40% increase in exceeding established compliance standards. 

 

Her consulting projects have included:

 

  • Establishing a Human Resources/Operations department for a small MBE/WBE certified firm specializing in event planning and call center management and training. 
  • Recruited and hired 150 independent contractors nationally within 3 months to launch a new multi-cultural Travel Club
  • Developed a non-profit Agency's written Affirmative Action Plan and procedure for annual updates. Established a minority focused management-training program for high potential employees. Worked with the Agency Leadership team in establishing hiring goals and recruiting plan.
  • Established processes for Medicare and Medicaid audits, HIPAA compliance and other risk assessment initiatives for a non-profit; provided training to staff on fraud awareness, sexual harassment and HIPAA compliance
  • Developing and implementing a three year Strategic Plan for a retail business
  • Implemented management control plans to increase accountability and improve performance for a Physician's office

Margaret attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond VA and Widener University in Chester, PA majoring in Business Administration.  She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management.
